2. Co-Scholastic Areas

The co-scholastic activities like Music, Dance, Art, Sport Activities, General Awareness and Value Education will be graded on a 3- point grading system (A to C)

Criterion for Proficiency (Classes I-III):  O Grade in each subject throughout the session.

The school follows the assessment pattern strictly as per the guidelines issued by CBSE.

1.  SCHOLASTIC AREA: The assessment structure and examination for classes IV and V have been prepared in view of the provisions of RTE-Act 2009 and comprises of two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2 as explained below:

Written exam for 60 marks with syllabus coverage as below:

10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

i. Assignment/ Class work/ Homework: Notebook submission as a part of internal assessment is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, handwriting, index, neatness and notebook upkeep.

ii. Subject Enrichment Activities/ Projects: These are the subject-specific activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development of the students. These activities are to be carried out throughout the term; however, they should be evaluated at the term-end.

2. CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES: For the holistic development of the child, co-curricular activities like Value Education, Work Education, General Awareness, Art Education and Health and Physical Education will be graded on a 3- point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair). The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork should be the generic criteria for grading these activities.

3. DISCIPLINE :The students will be assessed for the discipline based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading will be done term-wise on a 3- point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)

Points to be noted:-

1. It is mandatory to appear in all the Assessments/Evaluations.

2. Minimum qualifying grade for each subject in scholastic domain is D.

3. Term assessment for Value Education and General Awareness shall be based on oral test and written assessment respectively.

4. Assessment of Foundation of Information Technology (FIT) shall be based on theory and practical skills.

5. Retest will be conducted (only in one subject per cycle) in case of medical leave / marriage in first relation/emergency/on duty. In case of marriage prior approval is must (A copy of wedding card to be attached).

6. No retest shall be conducted in case of outstation leave. It is mandatory to send an application in proper format stating the reason of absence within one week of leave after which it will not be accepted.

 

Criterion for Scholar badge (Classes IV and V): Minimum A2 in languages and A1 in all other subjects.
