Admission Policy 2014-15
Admission Criteria and schedule of admission for the Pre School class for the academic year 2014-15

Based on the LG order dated 18.12.2013 and Circular No. DE-15/Act-I/2013/12810-20 dated 18.12.2013 issued by the Directorate of Education regarding the admission criteria and schedule for Pre School for the Academic Year 2014-15.

The schedule of admission shall be as per the directions of Directorate of Education.

1)   Age: - Minimum 3 years and maximum 4 years as on 31st March 2014.

2)   A point-based 1 to 100 scale devised for determining admission on the following basis

For Economically Weaker Category children following shall be criteria for admission:-

Common application form for admission, designed and prescribed by the Directorate of Education shall be distributed to the parents of EWS Children.

Application forms received will be divided in four categories as under

  1. Category – A              -        0-1 Km
  2. Category – B              -        1-3 Kms
  3. Category – C              -        3-6 Kms
  4. Category – D              -        Beyond 6 Kms.

As per the directions, the Draw of Lots will be conducted for the applications under Category-A. If the seats are still available, the draw of lots will be conducted for the children under category-B i.e. 1-3 Kms.

Similarly, if the seats are still available then a separate draw of lots shall be conducted for the applicants under category C: 3-6 Kms. The school shall go beyond 6 Kms., if the number of seats for the EWS remains still vacant.

The draw of lots shall be conducted in the presence of parents’ representatives and the nominee of the Department of Education shall be the observer.

All the admissions will be made by an Admission Committee under the chairmanship of the Principal of the School. The Admission Committee shall be constituted with the following members

(a)      Principal of the School – In the Chair
(b)      One member from PTA
(c)      VP/H.M./Incharge of the Primary Section of the School

The School shall use the standardized Registration Form bearing a unique number.

School management will ask the photocopies of the supporting documents with the registration form. In no case original documents shall be asked for, at the time of registration. Parent shall submit all original documents at the time of admission.

The School management shall scrutinize the registration forms to verify the details and others particulars filled up by the parents or guardian.

7)
The School management shall not conduct any interview or interaction with the child for whom admission is being sought. There shall also be no observation of the child either in formal or informal condition.

8)
The School management shall not conduct any interview or interaction with the parents. However the School can have informal interactions with parents only with the purpose to ascertain the veracity and correctness of the documents/ details, and to know their views on education, which will be communicated to the Parents in advance.

9)
The School management will adopt lottery system to select/Short list a child for admission only in case is a tie amongst applicants.

10) Schedule of dates for admission

The School shall make the admission as per the following schedule:

(a)  Distribution of registration forms   –  21st January 2014 to 05th February 2014

(b)  Acceptance of filled form  -  5th February 2014 upto 2.00 PM

(c)  After scrutiny of forms as per criteria adopted the school shall display the following information

(i)   First List of selected children - 28th February 2014

(ii)  Second list of selected children - 15th March 2014

(iii) Closure of admissions process - 31st March 2014

11) Depositing of Fee

(a) 1st list candidate – 28th February 2014 to 10th March 2014

(b) 2nd List candidate – 15th March 2014 to 25tht March 2014

12) Refund of Fee: Admission withdrawn/Cancelled due to one reason or another as per norms of Directorate of Education, the fees shall be refunded as per following norms

(a)      Immediately, after depositing the fees:- Except registration fee, entire fee shall be refunded.
(b)      Within one month after depositing the full fee for admission of the child:- Except registration fee,           admission fee, one month tuition fee, rest fee shall be refunded.

13) The School management shall furnish detailed information regarding admission in the Pre School class in prescribed format to DDE.
