Computer Science Week
Computer Science Week was observed in our school from 19 April’10 to 23 April’10. Various activities related to computers were conducted to involve the students and apprise them of the importance of computers. Interclass competitions were conducted, bulletin boards were decorated and special assemblies were held to make the children tech savvy.
Mathematics Week
Mathematics week was conducted in the school from 12 – 16 April ’10. During this week various puzzles and activities were done in Class VI whereas in class VII to X different techniques of Vedic Mathematics were taught like multiplication of 2 and 3 digit numbers by 11, multiplying and squaring 2 digit numbers, finding square of a number ending in digit 5 and many more. The standards thoroughly enjoyed the activities done and they were left yearning for more such activities in future.
Health and Hygiene week was observed in the school from December 1, 2009 to December 6, 2009. On account of the same, there were various activities carried out in the premises of the school. Students of class II participated in a competition where they enlightened everyone about the importance of hygiene and good health. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class IX. The motto was that instead of being sick and tired we should be sick of being sick and tired.
Cultural HeritageWeek
The Cultural Heritage Week was observed in the school from 11 to 15 Jan 2010. The students of class I – V decorated the soft boards depicting rich cultural heritage of the nation and its variegated colours .
A special assembly was also conducted by children of class IX who enlightened everybody on the diversity of the country.
Observation of the week fostered love for their motherland in the children. It also sensitized them towards the rich treasure of the country in the shape of Art, Literature and Architecture.

Computer Week
Computer week was observed in ITL Public School from 13th April – 18th April. Various interesting activities were planned to inspire the ITLeens to be tech savvy. Class - VI students displayed their computer skill while designing cover page of magazine in MS – Word. Class – VII student made a presentation on environment or disaster management. Class – IX students designed web pages in HTML on needs & invention of latest technology. Students of class X and XII participated in computer quiz.
English Week
20th April – 24th April was observed as English week to encourage the students to get engrossed in the richness of the marvelous English language. Students were motivated to converse in English and read good literary works. In the special assembly conducted by the students of class X, the students emphasized on the importance of English language and enlightened about the history of English literature. The mammoth contribution of Shakespeare to English literature was highlighted upon. Students were also acquainted with the Indian writers in English whose literary works have been internationally acclaimed.
Maths Week
Observing Maths week is a regular feature in ITL Public School. Various activities held in Maths week enhances accuracy, logical thinking, quick reasoning power. During this week students of classes VI – VIII thoroughly enjoyed while solving puzzles. Maths Olympiad was organized for students of classes IX & X. The Maths week was held from 27th April – 1st May.
Social Science Week
◊ Social Science week was celebrated from 6th July to 9th July 2009 in ITL Public School, Dwarka.
◊ During this period various activities were organized for classes VI to IX.
◊ Inter House Poster and Pamphlet making competition was organized for classes VI and VIII.
The topics given to the students were:
§ Save Water
§ Save Energy
For classes VIII and IX Inter House Debate was organized. Two students from each house in each class were given the topic to speak.
The topics for the debate were:
§ Global warming the greatest threat to our present environment.
§ Rapid industrialization leading us to the dooms day.
§ The serenity and say of the environment lies in the hands of younger generation.
◊ All the ‘Bulletin Boards’ were tastefully decorated with bright charts prepared by students under following topics:
§ Evolution of history as a subject.
§ Difference between social studies and social science.
§ Mughal Emperors – Kings and Timeline.
§ Earthday.
◊ On 9th July 2009 the school assembly was conducted on the topic of Social Science and its contribution to modern generation.
◊ The roller board was decorated with colourful charts on the topic of ‘World Population Day’.
Students sang the song “We are the World”. Amazing facts on ‘Globalization’ were told to students. Thought on environment and talk was given on the topic ‘Save Environment’.
The whole week was full of activities the aim was to make children aware of the surrounding and our past through participation.
Hindi Week
13th July to 17th July’09 was celebrated as Hindi Week in ITL Public School. It was truly an enriching and enlightening experience for the students as it endowed them with a magnificent opportunity to dip into the richness of Hindi literature. The students of class X conducted a special assembly paying tribute to the national language, Hindi. They emphasized the importance of Hindi language through an entertaining skit. They also spoke about the illustrious writers in Hindi like Premchand, Nirala, Jayashankar Prasad. The Bullet boards were replete with Hindi poems, quotations, portraits of poets and writers. Class activities were also organized to hone the grammatical skill of students. An Inter House Poetry Competition was also organized which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
Environment Week
Environment week was celebrated by ITLeen’s from 20th July to 24th July’09, with the clear message of ‘GO GREEN’ & ‘SAVE NATURE’.
The week had a special assembly conducted by class VII A, the highlights of which were:
a) Paper bags and ban polythene in the form of skit.
b) Use of ‘kulharh’ instead of plastic glasses to make environment clean (again in a form of skit).
c) Hindi song on ‘Nature Bliss’ was sung.
d) Pledge to keep environment clean was taken by the students.
It was followed by the plantation in the school campus by representatives of all classes. some enthusiastic environment loners had got their own saplings & found profound pleasure in planting them & tending for them.
To sensitise the ITLeens about Global Warming class IX was shown the movie ‘An inconvenient truth’ which had seminar by US vice president Al Gore which was indeed an Eye-opener to all of them. The students were asked to put up their views on it which was assembled together as a collage showcased the school exhibition.
