INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL

 

The investiture ceremony of ITL Public School was held on 23rd August, 2010. The guests for this momentous occasion were Padamshree Dr. R.S. Lugani, the educational advisor of ITL Public School and Dr. Radhika Adholaya, a renowned physician. The Vice Principal of the school, Ms. Archana Narain formally welcomed the guests. The school flag was handed over by the previous year’s head boy Aishwarya Kumar and head girl Prerna Srigyan to Varun Singh, the President, Dhruv Taneja, the head boy and Nitika Sharma, the head girl for the academic session 2010 – 2011. Padamashree Dr. R.S. Lugani and Dr. Radhika adorned the new council members with the badges of responsibilities. The school Vice Principal, Ms. Archana Narain administered the oath for the office bearers. The guests blessed the student council and inspired them to discharge their duty with sincerity and sanctity.  The vote of thanks was given by the Senior Mistress of the school, Ms. Kiran Dharmadhikari. The energy and enthusiasm of the new council members clearly reflected on their gleaming faces who were all set to take up their responsibility in a stride.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL

 

13th August’10 was observed as 63rd Independence Day of our beloved nation with devout sanctity and zest by the students of ITL Public School, Dwarka. Padamashree Dr. R.S. Lugani, the Educational Advisor of the school graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A passionate and fervent patriotic fervour stirred each mind and soul. As Dr. Lugani, the school’s Vice Principal Mrs. Archana Narain and Senior Mistress Mrs. Kiran Dharmadhikari hoisted the TRICOLOUR. The little ITLeens of class II rendered an enthusiastic vivacity to the ambience with a melodious patriotic song. A patriotic and motivated qawwali enchanted heart & soul and an informative Hindi and English speech enlightened all. Dr. Lugani’s well meaning prudent words left an indelible imprint on the minds of the students on this auspicious occasion. The cultural programme culminated with a pulsating fusion dance depicting that India still retains her rich cultural heritage while accepting the Western culture also. All ITLeens took a solemn resolution to dedicate themselves for the cause of the country.

 

Tehelka Workshop

 

ITL School organized an environment related workshop related to Bhopal gas tragedy and its effect on the people on 9th August’10. The workshop was conducted by the Tehelka Foundation where few students who are the part of international campaign for justice in Bhopal (ICJB) also came to share their experiences related to the Bhopal gas tragedy and its after effect on the mental and physical health of the people residing there. This workshop brought home the causes and the catastrophic consequences of this tragedy.

Report on Astronomy Session

 

The 3rd session of Astronomy club was held on 7th August named ‘Space Computer Astronomy and Planetarium Software’ workshop (SCAPS).

The session was conducted by Jagriti research coordinator of SPACE i.e. Science Poularisation Association of communicator and educator.

 

In this session the students learnt to explore the night sky and simulated the celestial events. It was a good and informative session.

 

A DREAM TRIP TO AUSTRIA

 

In a yet another saga of success, Avneet Singh, an ITLeen  of X-A, was selected by Don Bosco Academy GKII for international basketball match in United World Games 2010.

He had the opportunity to play in Austria with the players of various other countries including those of Haga, Yugoslavia, Netherlands and Spain. The team was placed on 8th position among 30 other countries. He toured different parts of Austria including Vienna, Venice and Klagenfurt.

Avneet extends his heartfelt thanks to his teachers who prepared him to undertake this responsibility with courage, grit and strength of mind.

Avneet you’ve done us proud! Your achievement is yet another feather in ITL’s cap!

 

 

STORY DRAMATIZATION COMPETITION

 

An intersection competition for Story Dramatization was held in the premises of the school on 21.7.10. The students of class VI (all sections) presented their stories impeccably. The costumes and props used were apt to the themes of the stories depicted. Class VI E was adjudged the best with the story ‘Tota Ram’ and VI B and VI C jointly shared the second position for their stories ‘India – the Cradle of Great Religions’ and ‘Bade Bhaisahib’. 

 

SCINTILLATIONS 2010 – AN INTERSCHOOL EVENT AT ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL

 

ITL Public School recently hosted ‘Scintillations 2010’ a flamboyant fleet of Interschool Competitions from 26th – 28th July’10. The opulent spectrum of activities provided a delightful dais to the students to evaluate their potential in the arena of aesthetic skills and performing arts. ‘Scintillations 2010’ saw an overwhelming response from many reputed schools of Delhi. The sumptuous hamper of activities comprised of Hindi Patriotic Poem Competition, Story Dramatisation, Spin – A – Yarn, Qawwali, English Debate and Solo Classical Dance Competition. The judges for the competitions were expert professionals in their respective fields. In Patriotic Poem Competition the victory stand was adorned by Saloni Aggarwal of Queen’s Valley school with the first position, Gauri Aggarwal of ITL Public School with the second position and Paridhi Khandelwal of K. R. Mangalam World School with the third position. The ‘Story Dramatisation’ competition registered the excellence of the students of ITL Public School in the domain of dramatic art who proudly embellished the winning list with the first position followed by Modern Convent School, Dwarka securing the second position and R.D. Rajpal School, Dwarka obtaining the third position. The juniors of Sri Venkateshwar School won the hearts of judges in the ‘Spin – A – Yarn’ competition who topped the list of competitors with the first position. Students of St. Mary School, Dwarka and St. Thomas School also exhibited their niche in the story telling art who were declared as the second and the third position holders respectively. In ‘Qawwali’ students of Kamal Model School danced their way to the first position, Sri Venkateshwar School made a mark for themselves with the second position while St. Mary’s School outshown others bagging the third position. ‘English Debate’ competition witnessed exceptional ‘gift of the gab’ of the students of Indraprastha School whose worthy orators Pawanjot Kaur and Akshita Mahajan grabbed the covetous title of the best speaker both for the motion and against the motion.  Aman Gahlot of Modern Convent School was adjudged as the best interjector. The victory stand of ‘Solo Classical Dance’ competition saw the luminous faces of Shubhashree of Modern Convent School winning the first position, Durga Menon of Nirmal Bhartia School bagging the second position and Ishita Aggarwal of Sri Venkateshwar School getting the third position. ‘Scintillation 2010’ was a grand success. ANNUAL EXHIBITION …… ‘EXPRESSIONS 2010’  

Annual Exhibition ‘Expressions 2010’ was held at ITL Public School on 17th July, 2010. Mr. Jung Bahadur, Deputy Director Education graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ITL premises exuded an aroma of festivity and had worn a gorgeous, vibrant yet erudite look. All ITLeens right from the little ones of class III to the young enthusiasts of class XII had zestfully engrossed themselves exhibiting their innate talent and creativity. ‘Expressions 2010’ became truly a ‘confluence of creativity’ with the joint endeavour of all departments. Energetic presentation of the students and the staff was acknowledged and acclaimed by all.

 

INSPIRE – Science Summer Camp

 

Our Teachers Miss Megha Gambhir, Ms Vandana Vasudeva & Mr. Pradeep Panda attended the INSPIRE Summer Science Camp from 6th July to 8th July at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi. The workshop was addressed by Prof. S. Natesh, DBT wherein he elaborated on Biotech which is a disruptive technology because it changes the way one thinks. It is a transdisciplinary field and has an impact on Agriculture, Industry, Environment and Animals. He also discussed future prospects of Biotechnology and said that it is boon to the Indian economy.

This was followed by a lecture by Dr. N.R. Jagannathan of AIIMS who threw light on Non invasive technique. He discussed the basic concept of spin alignment of proton, Axial view, Coronal view, Sagittal view and future prospects.

There was a practical session in Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Food Tech, Instrumentation, Microbiology, Paper recycling, Polymer Science and Physics.

This workshop was an eye opener for the children who gained a lot. The approach was innovative and inspiring and students learnt a lot about future prospects.

  

Astronomy Workshop

 

A stimulating astronomy session was conducted at ITL Public School on 3rd July by Mr. Sneh Kesari, a research person of Space Club. The workshop was a wonderful venture to apprise the students of the intrigues and intricacies of the vast horizon. Enlightening the students about the significance of direction he, thoroughly and meticulously, demonstrated how to find directions which is a prerequisite for locating stars. He lucidly taught students the use of gnomon, globe, azimuth – all essential for locating stars. Overwhelmed and awestruck students were transported to the mystic zone of the sky and stars, through the exciting workshop.

 

MOTIVATIONAL WORKSHOP BY DR. K.K. AGGARWAL

A unique and invigorating motivational workshop was organised at ITL Public School on 29th June’10. The resource person was the acclaimed cardiologist Padma Shree Dr. K.K. Aggarwal. Mr. I.P. Jain, Manager ITL offered a floral welcome to the eminent doctor. Dr Anjali Sethi, Principal ITL welcomed the esteemed Guest of Honour in her flamboyant speech referring to the exceptional skill of Dr. Aggarwal  in the medical field and his innumerable achievements. In this enlightening session, the assembled gathering was immensely enchanted and captivated by the way Dr. Aggarwal established an effective communion between spirituality and the domain of medicine. He emphasized on the role of an ideal teacher which involved thorough knowledge of the students, patient hearing to the queries of the students and deep understanding of the students’ psychology. He highlighted that the ultimate goal of human life should be realizing inner tranquility and happiness and involving ourselves in meaningful pursuits. His optimistic note that every adversity can be converted into an opportunity left an indelible imprint on one and all. He enlightened the path to a disease free healthy life through discipline and regular exercises. Mr. Govind Gupta, Management member presented a memento to Dr. Aggarwal as a token of gratitude. Teachers from 16 schools and PTA members also attended the workshop. All present felt privileged to be a part of this stimulating session. The vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal, Ms. Archana Narain.

 

Class X Result 2009 – 10

The school saw an exhilarating 100% result on 28th May’10 of class X Board. No E1 and E2 grades. It was a proud moment for one and all. Three students have got 9.8 as the highest CGPA. Congratulations to Shubham Jain, Tushar Aggarrwal & Varun Singh for being the highest scorer. Average CGPA of the school is 8.0. Well done students & teachers! EMPOWERMENT CLASSES - NTSE

Empowerment classes begin to prepare the students for forthcoming NTSE conducted by NCERT. Under the able guidance of the resource person, Mr. Pankaj Vajpayee, the students would  get an edge for preparing for other competitive exams with their mathematical, logical and analytical skill being sharpened.

Class XII Result 2009 – 10

Congratulations to all !!!

It was indeed a very happy and encouraging moment for the school when the result of class XII Board was announced on 21st May’10. The school saw 100% result with 91.6% as the highest percentage bagged by PRIYAMVADA GUPTA (Science) followed by ASHISH KHURANA (Science) with 91.2% whereas ASHISH BISHT (Science) got 90.2%.

World Dance Day

In commemoration of the 283rd birthday of the creator of ballet Jean Georges Noverre , the legendary French dancer and  ballet master , a dance performance was organized in the premises of the school on 29 April ’10. The dance maestros were Shovana Brata Sircar, Nutan Shovana Sircar alongwith Taneshka Grover, an ITLeen of VI D.

The audience hailed the dance performances which included glimpses from life of Lord Krishna . They also gave a stupendous   performance on the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu- Dashavtar.

On the occasion of the World Dance Day our esteemed management members, President Sh. G. K. Jaju, Manager I.P. Jain , Academic advisor Padmashree Dr. R. S. Lugani along  with the Principal and Headmistress also took this opportunity to release the school magazine ‘Jigyasa’on this momentous occasion.  

Winners – National Bal Bhawan

National Bal Bhawan celebrated the anniversary of World Education Forum by organizing an ‘Education for All’ week . The theme for this was ‘Financing Quality Public Education : A right for all’. The various competitions held during this week were for the age group of 10 – 16 years. The chief guests at the award ceremony were UNESCO Director – Mr. Parshuraman and Ms. L.K. Gupta w/o Air Chief Marshal Gupta.

ITLeens added another feather in the cap of achievements by excelling in various competitions held at Bal Bhawan.

Simarjeet Singh Manchanda touched everybody’s heart with his sensitive poem which was judged at the 1st position in Creative Writing while Pulkit Nayar stood 2nd in Clay Modelling competition.

MEGA ART COMPETITION

On the occasion of Earth Day , an art extravaganza was organized by the Art of Living Foundation, NIE and UNICEF in the premises of ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL on 22nd April, 2010. Around 400 hundred students participated in the competition. They displayed their artistic flair on the theme  “My dream Delhi, Clean Delhi”. The students poignantly depicted their vision of Delhi.

EMPOWERMENT CLASSES

To boost up the academic excellence, an initiative was taken up on Saturday 17 April’10 to introduce the concept of ‘EMPOWERMENT CLASSES’ for classes VIII and IX. The aim of the classes was to prepare students for the forthcoming NTSE and JSTS exams and above all to widen their academic perspective and give them an extra edge in Maths, Science and Social Studies, which would prepare our students for any competitive exam. Keeping the above in mind an interactive programme was held between parents of classes VIII and IX and the resource person Mr. Pankaj Vajpayee who is an Engineer from IIT and MBA from FMS. He is the visiting faculty for many Govt. and Pvt. Institutions and also runs such empowerment classes in various reputed schools in Delhi.

After a brief introduction to exam and its pattern, the students and parents were made to solve some problems. The idea behind was to make them realize the importance of time. Stress was made on time management, which is the essence of success in any competitive exam. 

 FACE CLUB

On 26 April’10, logo and slogan writing competition was held for the FACE Club students. All the members participated with enthusiasm. Everyone pitched in with ideas for the competition. A lot of interesting and innovative ideas were given. Children drew beautiful and moving depictions of our Mother Earth. Thought provoking words were used in slogans. Participants were left yearning for more such activities.

Workshop on De Stressing The Learning Environment

The workshop was organized by Times NIE in collaboration with Pie education at Park Hotel, Connaught Place on 9 April, 2010 which was attended by Ms. Shikha Gautham and Ms. Ruchi Sahni. The ceremony was presided over by Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, Honourable Education and Tourism Minister. Many distinguished guests and delegates from various spheres were invited to grace the occasion and address the gathering of teachers and principals of various schools.

Mr. Sanjeev Vohra, Director R&D , TOI, spoke on the occasion of the 25th silver jubilee year  and elaborated about NIE- an initiative of education through newspaper. Sh. Lovely emphasized on how de stressing the learning environment is the need of the hour for better productivity in terms of thought. The role of technology as pivotal in bringing out this was also highlighted.

ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP IN ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL

‘Space Club’ an organization dedicated to unravel the myriad mysteries of space and promote astronomy and space science, organised a very informative workshop on 8th April’10 in ITL Public School. The resource person Mr. Tanmay Pranjape presented interesting and exciting facts about the wondrous universe. In his presentation he showed fascinating pictures of our milky way, planets, other galaxies, Herbal Space Telescope. Children were awestruck to see the enchanting photographs of Nebula – the birth place of stars, picture of full moon, solar eclipse, corona, annular solar eclipse, comets, asteroids, meteors. He emphasized that the universe is enchanting and the space club will provide the students with a unique platform to explore the mystical universe.
