ITL Public School observes *World Cancer day , on 4 February* aiming to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, timely detection and treatment. It is lead by the Union for International cancer control (UICC) whose primary goal is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer.
This year's theme for world cancer day is "Close the care gap" which focusses on the need to understand and reduce the inequalities in cancer care around the globe. It lays special emphasis on those who are not able to gain access to healthcare services and resources due to dearth of financial resources. So, let's join hands to end the fight against cancer.

ITL Public School celebrates National Voters Day with an objective to empower our  young voters to be more vigilant, informed and safe. 25 th January which marks the  foundation day of the Election Commission of India, was observed with great zeal and  enthusiasm. ITL Public School observes World Cancer Day 2021 to spread awareness, inspire  change and reduce the global impact of cancer. The day is celebrated on 4th February  every year and this year marks the ultimate year of the 'I Am and I Will' campaign  which began in 2019. The aim to observe World Cancer Day is to reduce  misconceptions about cancer and to help people in getting the right information  about it. It also offers a chance to make an impact in the betterment of the life of  cancer patients and survivors.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated the critical role of  women researchers in different stages of the fight against COVID-19, from advancing the  knowledge on the virus, to developing techniques for testing, and finally to creating the  vaccine against the virus.

In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation of women and girls in  science and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls,  the United Nations General Assembly declared 11 February as the International Day of  Women and Girls in Science.

International Mother's Language Day is celebrated every year to promote linguistic  and cultural diversity and multilingualism with an objective to promote foundational  learning in mother tongue, inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals that  focus on leaving no one behind. The theme for this year is 'Fostering multilingualism  for inclusion and education in society. ' The decade 2022-2032 has been declared by  the United Nations as the UN International Decade of Indigenous Languages with a  vision to preserve the differences in cultures and languages that foster tolerance and  respect for others. In sync with this, promotion of education in mother tongue has  been made the cornerstone of The New Education Policy of India.

ITL Public School observes National Science Day on February 28, it holds a special place  in history, as on this day in 1928, India's prominent scientist, Sir C. V. Raman discovered  "Raman Effect." For this remarkable discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel  Prize in Physics in 1930.

Celebrated as National Science Day, the main objective of the day is to bring awareness  among people about the importance of Science in daily lives, and to popularize Science  and technology among the youth.  

This year, the theme for National Science Day is ‘Future’ of STI : Impacts on Education,  Skill and Work."

ITL Public School took the initiative of fostering the scientific spirit by providing a  platform to the young learners to perform simple, hands-on, experiments at home,  which could help in bridging the potential gaps between theory and practice.

International Day of Action for Rivers is celebrated every year on 14 March to spread  awareness about the significance of rivers in our lives.Water is the elixir of life ....It is very  important for humanity to have access to clean flowing water.Today most of the rivers of  India are highly polluted due to over increasing population and insensitive and  indiscriminate use of rivers by the people.Rapid climate change is also affecting the flow  of the rivers.  

So, to give attention to the declining health of rivers and to understand its gravity, the  year 2021 is being celebrated as ' Right of Rivers'.

On this day, people around the world come together to raise their voice against  construction of dams, increasing pollution of river water and take up different Action  Plans and their implementation for the sustainable management of watershed.

Firmly believing in CARPE DIEM ........('enjoy the moment') & focussing on the theme  Keep Calm, Stay Wise, Be kind, ITL Public School commemorates International Day of  Happiness......... keeping the enthusiasm of the students always high by giving them a  HAPPY SCHOOL environment and rendering them with freedom to do whatever  makes them happy.......

On 2nd April the resolution to raise awareness on autism was passed in the United Nations  General Assembly. Autism is a neurodevelopment disorder that generally appears before  the age of 3 which manifests itself in the form of deficits in communication, as well as  repetitive behaviors and restricted interests. Children with autism spectrum disorder have  a wide range of abilities and early intervention has positive effects on them and allowing  them to continuously improve with individualized services and opportunities that support  inclusion.

2020 had been a grim year for autistic children due to disruption in routine, loneliness, due  to the Lockdown. Despite this, 2021 is said to be the year of change whose theme  corresponds to “Inclusion in the Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities in a Post Pandemic World”

Despite the scenario, ITL has always found a way to discover the silver lining. With  necessary precautions, Individual counseling sessions were organised completing the  trinity of stakeholders: Children, Parents, and Teachers. A plethora of "Intervention and  Innovative Strategies" were practiced, which included curation of a visual schedule and a  universal design of learning in the form of Podcasting, Visual Notetaking, and engaging  children with a comprehensive Home Bound program,so that Learning continues

World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 18th April,to spread awareness about the  profond cultural heritage of various communities of the world.

This day was originally suggested by ICOMOS( International Council on Monuments and  Sites) in 1982 and the UNESCO accepted their proposal in 1983.

The theme for this year for World Heritage Day is Complex Pasts:Diverse Futures.This  implies the acceptance of cultural challenges in the past but with the will to look beyond  them and envision the dream of solidarity.

ITL Public School observed this Day by organising a plethora of activities , there was an  assembly organised by students of Classes I to VIII, teaching the young ones ,ways to  Protect,Accept and Respect their Traditional wealth.

Classes IX-XII showcased the Heritage Quiz which was attended by Principal ITL Public  School Dr.Sudha Acharya and the guest for the day,Ms.Manisha Seewal who is an alumni  of St.Stephens,New Delhi ,with a graduate degree in History Honours.She inspired the  students to reach out for their aspirations and in this journey they should always be  proud ambassadors of their motherland.

Earth day is observed every year on 22 April. It attempts to raise global public awareness for the well-being of the planet and all the life it supports, and aims to promote harmony with nature.

The theme for this year's earth day is RESTORE OUR EARTH, which focuses on the need to reduce our impact on the planet as we recover from the effects of Covid-19.

ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL observes World Malaria Day on 25 April to bring global attention to the efforts being made to bring an end to malaria, and encourage action to reduce suffering and death from the disease.

The theme of World Malaria Day 2021 is “Reaching the zero malaria target.” World Malaria Day 2021 will unify and build on the Zero Malaria Starts with Me’ movement and *‘Draw the Line Against Malaria’ youth focused campaign.

The marvels and mysteries of space has always been a great matter of fascination for humans. As the years go by, the fascination for the sky pulls more people towards it. This enthusiasm and wonder culminated in the celebration of International Astronomy Day. International Astronomy Day is celebrated twice a year, 15 May and 9 October respectively, to observe the changing constellations and so much more. This yearly celebration spreads awareness about the harmful mental and physical problem faced by children forced into child labour and reiterates the rights of the children. Poshan Vatika, comprising of herbal and medicinal plants was set up in School Campus.

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is observed on October 1 every year in India since 1975 to encourage healthy people to donate blood. Blood donation is said to be a noble and selfless act. Blood donation is literally life-saving for serious accident victims and the patients suffering from diseases like severe anaemia and Thalassemia. A similar process to whole blood donation is apheresis.This provides other blood components, such as platelets. A donation of platelets can help people who have issues related to clotting and may also provide antibodies to help fight a disease, such as COVID-19.Apart from this blood donation is also a sign of humanity that unites people irrespective of caste, creed, religion and moreover blood donation not only helps that specific person but is also a responsible gesture towards society . World Diabetes Day is celebrated on 14th November, every year to raise awareness about diabetes and diabetic people.

The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021 is Access to diabetes care. This year also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin.

ITL Public School sensitizes the young minds about the struggles the diabetic people go through such as constantly battling medication and the scarcity of insulin in their bodies.

ITL Public School observes National Epilepsy Day which is celebrated on 17th November every year to spread awareness regarding the disorder. The word epilepsy is derived from the Latin and Greek word for “seizure” or “to seizure upon”. As the name suggests, Epilepsy is a brain disorder that results in constant seizures. Fear, misunderstanding, and the resulting social stigma and discrimination surrounding epilepsy often force people with this disorder “into the shadows”.

We at ITL Public School strongly believe in sensitizing young minds about the struggles of people with epilepsy and how to always make them feel included and offer first aid and help them to cope up with it.We also want to generate awareness regarding discriminatory practices and absurd stereotypes and evolving an empathetic approach towards this disorder.

Every year, winter becomes the harbinger of a catastrophic situation with the fatal presence of polluted air .The morning skies take on an ominous Grey colour and the basic act of breathing in Delhi becomes hazardous. With the AQI levels exceeding 500, the city unfortunately has been consistently topping the list of 'World's most polluted cities'.

There is an urgent need to instill awareness among people about environmental pollution and its disastrous consequences, and take imminent and emergency measures to tackle the problem.

The theme for World Disability Day this year is “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

Disabled people often remain on the fringes of society. Disability inclusion means making sure everybody has the same opportunities to participate in every aspect of life to the best of their desires. Every individual as a part of the society should focus on sensitising others towards the needs of differently abled people and remember that disability is not inability!

ITL Public School observes Human Rights Day on 10 December to echo the notion that recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world. It is important that each one of us awakens his conscience to contribute towards a society that is equal monetarily, socially and culturally.

It is imperative that the students be made aware about Human Rights and how they can be protected. On Human Rights Day, let's commit to accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals serve as a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all, focusing on a variety of social issues.

Understanding, respect and tolerance for differences, can empower them to tackle prejudice, improve relationships and make the most of their lives. In our ever more diverse and challenging society, it becomes more important to instil young people with these positive and open-minded attitudes, which leads to the capacity building of the students with learning they can use far beyond the classrooms.

ITL Public School celebrates the National Energy Conservation Day on December 14 to create awareness among students about the importance of saving energy. Energy conservation will be a crucial enabler of the ambitious net zero targets announced in the recent 26th Conference of Parties (COP 26) .

As our energy requirements are expected to rise in future so we have to pursue a transition to greener sources of energy to achieve sustainable cities.

Clearly, energy conservation should be rooted in the behaviour of every Indian to get more effective results. Through small acts such as switching off lights (in vacant rooms) and cars (when idle at red lights), using solar powered equipments, we can play a big role in helping India conserve energy crucial for our future growth.

ITL Public School observes Swarnim Vijay Diwas to salute the valour and sacrifice of our armed forces in the 1971 war. This year is marked as Swarnim Vijay Varsh to commemorate the 50th anniversary of India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war and the liberation of Bangladesh.

ITL Public School observes International Human Solidarity Day on December 20 to celebrate global unity in diversity and raise public awareness on the significance of Solidarity to achieve Sustainability. The theme and basic purpose of International Human Solidarity Day are to eradicate poverty and promote the culture of cooperation, equality and social justice, which tends to human and social development particularly in developing countries. This day underlines the need for global cooperation and partnerships to lift people out of poverty, hunger and disease and urge people with power and ability to reach out to those in need.
